`Gunsmoke' 50th Anniversary

Today is the 50th Anniversary of the first airing of the long running TV classic "Gunsmoke". Producers initially wanted John Wayne cast in the part of Matt Dillon but he declined because of his movie career. Wayne introduced the opening episode Sept. 10, 1955.
